I was lucky, because early in life I learned not to say that I would never need to know something or I will never do something. For it seemed that 'The Fates' (for lack of a better term) would always have me doing exactly what it was I said I would not need or ever do. Thus while I did not always study a lot of areas as well as I should have I did always watch and at least try to learn the basics in anything anyone was doing around me.

It is funny many times I didn't worry about people pushing me away saying, "You'll never need to know this, go away let us do our thing and do your thing." Has come up several times as a problem because I didnít push to learn those exact areas.

I have a unique advantage here that I am at least familiar with many different work areas / fields of study. For instance in the short time I have been in the Philippines I have had to be a design engineer, electrician, a carpenter, a plumber, a roofer, a mechanic, chemist, first aid technician just to list a few areas. Much of which is being done without electrical tools or modern equipment. Or even an internet connection to get better how to examples.

Funny how Our Creator tries to give us all the resourses, experience and knowledge we need but we have to be willing to insist upon taking that knowledge. And doing with it as we should.

Of course, had you told me when I was in school (20+ years ago) I would be doing all these different things I would looked at you like you were out of your mind.

I think back at all the people I have tried to teach that said, "Oh we will never use this." or "When will I ever use that?"

I had good answers for some of the areas. Though some things were a little more difficult to answer.

All I can say to anyone that says that now is:

"When I was young I did not think most of the things that happed to me over the next several decades would happen. For no one but Our Creator knows what lies ahead of us because of the choices we each make throughout our lifes. However, if you really want to at least attempt to live up to your potential and be able to handle lifeís challenges a little easier you should try to learn everything you can in every situation you are in be it classroom or in daily life. From my experience in life I have seen that Our Creator will try to give us everything we will need (not what we want, what we need) but we have to be willing to pick it up and do our part."
